Watermelon Slim archetypal blues cognac 2010

WATERMELON SLIM - ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

“The most exciting and authentic blues performer I’ve heard in years.” A.W., Paste Magazine

2x Winner: 2008 Blues Music Award Band of the Year and Album of the Year
2x Winner: 2006 & 2007 MOJO Magazine’s #1 Blues Album of the Year
Winner: 6th Annual Independent Music Awards Blues Album of the Year

Bill “Watermelon Slim” Homans has built a remarkable reputation with his raw, impassioned intensity. HARP Magazine wrote “From sizzling slide guitar…to nitty-gritty harp blowing…to a gruff, resonating Okie twang, Slim delivers acutely personal workingman blues with both hands on the wheel of life, a bottle of hooch in his pocket, and the Bible on the passenger seat.” Paste Magazine writes “He’s one hell of a bottleneck guitarist, and he’s got that cry in his voice that only the greatest singers in the genre have had before him.”

SETH LEE JONES
Ok, so I looked for some press on Seth Lee Jones and, not surprisingly, I found very little about this wonderful artist.  Like many gifted Tulsa artists, Seth is not one to "toot his on horn" or more accurate, "to bend his own string."

I did find articles about his skills as a luthier, which alone are quite remarkable, but Seth Lee Jones is a guitar player that could easily share a stage with some of the great slide players on the planet.  Sonny Landreth comes to mind, as well as our featured performer "Watermelon Slim."

If you have never had the opportunity to hear Seth work his magic on the guitar, which by the way, is a custom guitar he built, this young artist knows his way around a fret board and he writes and sings in a voice that comes from deep within and resonates in a tone that seems to link him to some of the best blues singers in the world.   We are fortunate to have such a talent in our own backyard and I am excited to introduce him to those of you haven't heard heard his music before.
