Note from Host: Just want to thank everyone for making our last two shows at the Stone Church a success. This new undertaking is a work in progress and we are working out the bugs, but I, personally, love the homegrown factor. I want to say a special thank you to all of you who brought food to share with everyone. It made the whole experience richer. About The Barton Long Band:
George and Linda have been married and singing together for 38 years.
George Barton has been playing in and around Tulsa for over 30 years and is a 2-time Tulsa World Spotnick award winner as one half of the acoustic duo Barton and Sweeney, who toured nationally for a number of years. He earned a reputation as a blues man and placed with his band George and the Bartones at the National Blues Competition in Memphis, TN in the 90's.
Linda Barton spent years behind the scenes before joining him on stage, singing and playing percussion. Their many years singing together are telling in the seamlessness of their harmonies.
Mike Long has a long history as a Tulsa musician. In the seventies he played in the bands Stampede and Bear Left. He loves old-time fiddle and banjo music and plays Contra dances regularly with local fiddle legend Glen Godsey.
Jackson Barton is the son of George and Linda. He has been around the world of music and musicians all of his life and has his father's knack for picking up stringed instruments and playing effortlessly. He is young and on the move, playing bass with Barton and Long when he is available.
There is something magical about a family who makes music together, and this shines through with each performance.
